I’m Toby Dorr—writer, speaker, publisher, and founder of the Fierce Grace Movement. After a prison escape that captured headlines, my story became something more.
I turned a moment of chaos into a lifetime of purpose—helping women rise through truth-telling, reclamation, and second chances. Today, I’m creating sacred spaces for transformation—on the page, on the stage, and behind the mic—proving that we are all more than our worst mistake.
I live just outside Washington, D.C., where I advocate fiercely for the dignity and freedom of returning citizens. My voice lives at the intersection of redemption and rebellion—and through Fierce Conversations, I use it to lift stories that too often go untold.

Being there for others is always the right thing to do even in – or maybe especially in – the face of public scrutiny. Embracing those who are broken permits them to heal.
The word ‘fierce’ has been dancing around in my head.
Some people thought fierce was too strong, too unkind, too bold. But fierce is EXACTLY what’s needed.
